Norte combined cycle plant, Durango, Mexico.

Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) adjudged to the company Unión Fenosa Internacional (UFI) the contract of the 450 Mw combined cycle power plant Norte, in Durango (Mexico). It is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) contract model for 25 years between CFE and UFI.

UFI, as well, contracted the consortium UTE CC Norte, formed by Cobra (75%) and SENER (25%), the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) the plant construction.

SENER was responsible for basic engineering and detailed engineering and participated in the LSTK.

The power plant includes two Siemens gas turbines (501F), two heat recovery steam generators, one Siemens steam turbine, one air cooled condenser and all the required auxiliary systems.

Additionally, the scope includes the main water pipe, that will be around 38 km long, to feed with raw water the plant.

The power plant has been running since 2010.
